Unable to start MySql

Issue/Introduction

When we try to start mysql we see:
 
[[email protected]<hostname>. InstallLogs]# service mysql start
Starting MySQL. ERROR! The server quit without updating PID file (/opt/CA/MySql/data/<hostname>.pid).

Cause

System out of space

Environment

CAPM 3.x

Resolution

Do the following to resolve issue:

  • df -h to determine where the space issue might be
  • clean up files to regain space by running rm <file name>
  • restart mysql: service systemctl start mysql (rhel 7)

MySql should start successfully
