Issue/Introduction

After applying PTF RO96344 for each XCOMJOB there are two messages in the JOBLOG:
XCOMM0937I zEDC hardware acceleration not available or not configured for deflate
XCOMM0937I zEDC hardware acceleration not available or not configured for inflate
Is there a CONFIG parameter that would eliminate these messages? It seems that they are not useful.

Environment

Release:
Component: XCMVS

Resolution

When you look at the Joblog of an XCOM-Transfer you might see one or more of these messages (xxxxxxxx stands for deflate (compression) or inflate (decompression)):

XCOMM0934I zEDC hardware acceleration will be used for xxxxxxx
XCOMM0935I zEDC hardware acceleration available for zlib xxxxxxx buffers >= nK
XCOMM0936I zEDC hardware acceleration detected. However, minimum xxxxxxxx threshold nK excludes XCOM use
XCOMM0937I zEDC hardware acceleration not available or not configured for xxxxxxxx

These messages are just informal and do not lead to a problem. They inform on the status of support for IBM's z/EDC hardware accelerator feature which is implemented by PTF RO96344.

Additional Information

If you report a problem and send us the Joblog we can see the status of the zEDC facility immediately and this will help in some cases.
