After configuring CA SDM Universe's connection to "Use BusinessObjects credentials" option to in order to enforce data partition constraints on report results, when logging into CABI Designer and trying to view data or verify the Universe connection results in the error error: "A database error occured. The database error text is: [DataDirect][ODBCOpenAccess SDK Driver] [OpenAccess SDK Service] Required User name is missing (WIS 10901)"

When you configure the CA SDM - CABI integration to enforce CA SDM data partitions, there are a few mandatory steps that need to be performed:

  1. The Username and Password fields in CABI MUST match the Userid and Password fields in CA SDM respectively

  2. Ensure that the option "Enable and Update User's Data Source Credentials at Logon Time" is enabled for the Alias Type for the CABI username in question. This option is enabled either via AUTHENTICATION->ENTERPRISE or AUTHENTICATION->LDAP within the CABI Central Management Console (CMC).

The most common cause of the "A database error occured. The database error text is : [DataDirect][ODBCOpenAccess SDK Driver] [OpenAccess SDK Service] Required User name is missing (WIS 10901)" error is if step #2 above is not performed.

Refer to TEC565067 CA Support Online for details on how to configure CABI reports to enforce Multi-Tenancy/Data Partition constraints.
