It may be necessary after the initial installation of CA Business Intelligence to change the Tomcat port that gets assigned during the installation.

To change the Tomcat port for the BOXI, perform the below steps:

  1. On the CA Business Intelligence server, navigate to the Business Intelligence installation folder:  Defaults are C:\Program Files\CA\SC\CommonReporting3 on 32-bit OS and C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CommonReporting3 on 64-bit OS.

  2. Navigate to the to Tomcat55/conf folder.

  3. Take a backup of the SERVER.XML file.

  4. Open the SERVER.XML file in a text editor.

  5. Locate the following line:

    <!-- Define a non-SSL Coyote HTTP/1.1 Connector on port 8080 -->"

    In the Connector section, change the Tomcat port to the desired value:

    Example: <Connector URIEncoding="UTF-8" acceptCount="100" ConnectionTimeout="20000" debug="0" disableUploadTimeout="true" enableLookups="false" maxSpareThreads="75" maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" port="PORT #" redirectPort="8443"/>

  6. Save the SERVER.XML file.

  7. Change the shortcuts to the InfoView and Central Management Console programs to reflect the new Tomcat port:

    - Navigate to the Infoview URL - CommonReporting3\Tomcat55\bobjsetup\infoview.url. Go to properties of this file to make the changes to the port in the web document tab.

    - Navigate to the Central Management Console URL - CommonReporting3\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\cmc.url. Go to properties of this file to make the changes to the port in the web document tab.

  8. Launch the Central Configuration Manager from Start ->All Programs->Business Objects XI 3.1 ->BusinessObjects Enterprise ->Central Configuration Manager.
