Solution:

The Observer/Expert Probe MUST be up and running as a service first.

When running as an Observer Application it is not running as a service.

You must switch the Observer to Expert Probe then select to run as a service.

  1. Stop the NetQoS Gigastor Manager, NetQos Gigastor Reader service and any NI or Observer processes from the Task Manager.

  2. Set the NetQoS Gigastor Manager and NetQos Gigastor Reader to Startup Manually from the Services Menu.

  3. Click on the Observer icon. (Usually on the Desktop)

  4. Click View and select "Switch to Expert Probe".

  5. In Expert Probe (screenshot below) select Options and select "run as a service" (also select update automatically).

  6. Reboot the server, verify that the NI services are running after reboot then start the NQ Reader service first and this will spawn the NQ Manager.

If all services are running and you're still not getting any data or Active Sessions, run the Digest Receiver on the server that the Gigistor is sending to. Verify that data is being received. If it is no data is being received then check the firewalls.
