How to install the Business Objects WEBI Rich Client program on a remote workstation for use with CA Business Intelligence (CABI).

Issue/Introduction

Description:

For CA Business Intelligence (CABI) "power users" who will be frequently creating and/or editing CABI reports, it is recommended to install the WEBI Rich Client application on their workstation.

Solution:

  1. Ensure that you are logged into the workstation as an Administrator user.

  2. From the CABI install media, run 'ca_tps.nt\CABO\cabi\Disk1\cabi\setup.exe'.

  3. Click OK on the Language selection screen

  4. Click NEXT on the Welcome screen

  5. Accept the License Agreement and click NEXT

  6. Click NEXT on the Language Pack screen

  7. Select CUSTOM OR EXPAND INSTALL and verify the install location and then click NEXT

  8. Highlight and click the top of the selection tree (SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise) and select ENTIRE FEATURE WILL BE UNAVAILABLE

  9. Expand CLIENT COMPONENTS and select to install WEB INTELLIGENCE RICH CLIENT and UNIVERSE DESIGNER

  10. Highlight and click the DATABASE ACCESS selection and select ENTIRE FEATURE WILL BE INSTALLED ON LOCAL HARD DRIVE. Click on NEXT.

  11. Click the NEXT button to begin the install

  12. If you have already installed BOXI SP5 on the CABI server, follow TEC566603 to install SP5 on the workstation.

  13. Follow TEC523851 to manually install and configure CA Service Desk Manager (Data Direct) ODBC Driver on the workstation.
