Issue/Introduction

Description:

CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) data partitions are not being enforced on the Values presented on Web Intelligence Report prompt dialog boxes

Follow TEC565067 to enforce data partitions on CABI reports. Although the login user restricts not to see a value by the data partition, if a report wasdesigned to prompt the end user with a list of values, the list shows the previously cached values on the prompt.

Here is the steps to reproduce.

  1. Login SDM by servicedesk user(No restricted user) and run the report that has the prompt.
  2. The list on the prompt shows all existed values.
  3. Logout SDM.
  4. Login SDM by restricted user by the data partition.
  5. Run the same report as #1.
  6. The list on the prompt shows the value that should not appear to the restricted user by the data partition.

Solution:

  1. Open CMC, and go to the Servers.
  2. Double click the WebIntelligenceProcessingServer at page 2 in the Server list.
  3. The properties screen will appear. Click the 'Properties' in left pane.
  4. Remove the check of the 'Enable List Of Values Cache'.
  5. Click Save button.
  6. Recycle the WebIntelligenceProcessingServer.

NOTE: IF required remove the cache of the WebIntelligence report. Navigate to the following folder: <BO Installation folder>\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\Data\<computername>\storage\docs. Warning! Do not delete the Docs folder itself. All subfolders and wid files below the Docs folder may be removed.
