Issue/Introduction

Description:

ISSUE

View displays "Input String was not in a correct format," doesn't show data.

DETAILS

This error has been seen on RA and NPC, and can probably affect any product.

Solution:

NPC 6.0 CBQoS Views

If this issue is with individual CBQoS Classmaps in NPC 6, but not affecting other views, this is caused by a defect. The workaround is to right-click the classmap and select it from the context menu.

All Others

This is caused by the date being in the wrong format. You can verify this by looking in the logs. In the US, dates are in the mm/dd/yyyy format, but in many other countries, the date is in the dd/mm/yyyy format. To force the server to use the US format:

  1. Open the product's web.config file, go to the Globalization section, and update the globalization entry to this:
    <globalization requestEncoding="utf-8" responseEncoding="utf-8" culture="en-US"/>

  2. Then issue an iisreset.

The web.config files are in the following locations:

  • NPC: D:\NETQOS\portal\WebSite
  • RA: D:\NETQOS\reporter\NetQoS.ReporterAnalyzer.WebSite
  • NV: D:\NetVoyant\Portal\WebSite
  • SA: D:\NETQOS\SuperAgent\dotnet\Console
  • UCM: D:\NETQOS\VoIPMonitor\WebSite
