Issue/Introduction

Description:

In RHEL 5.5, when the time zone is changed to Asia/Kolkata from its GUI utility (setup->Timezone configuration), the EM doesn't correctly display the changed time zone (i.e., IST) in the logs. However, the timestamp is shown correctly in the worstation's bottom right corner and in the metric values inthe graph.

<Please see attached file for image>

Solution:

Change the time zone from RHEL's command line as below:

  1. run:
    #cd /etc

  2. If required, backup the previous timezone configuration by copying it to a different location, run:
    # cp /etc/localtime /etc/localtime-old

  3. Create a symlink of Asia/Kolkata timezone on the "/etc/" directory with name "localtime", run:
    # ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Asia/Kolkata localtime

  4. Re-start the EM, for the changes to take effect.

Environment

Release:
Component: APMINT
