Disk Backup and Restore - MVS DISK BACKUP AND RESTORE- ADD-ON OPTIO DISK BACKUP AND RESTORE

Issue/Introduction

We need to change the Disk™ Backup and Restore Loadlib, CCUWLOAD, but an "Enqueue" exist on this pds, for CAHCHECK address space. CAHCHECK is automatically started at IPL.

How to free this enqueue ?

Environment

Release: Disk-Backup and Restore-for z/OS

Resolution

Disk™ Backup and Restore is not causing the contention or own the exclusive allocation of any LOADLIBs.

Hosted Health Checks may have data sets allocated to them. If other processes require exclusive control of those data sets, they will be in contention with the CAHCHECK address space. No need to shut down the CAHCHECK address space to resolve the contention.

Use the DISPLAY ALLOC command to determine which health check has the data set:
F CAHC,DISPLAY ALLOC

Displays all data sets allocated to all health checks:
F CAHC,D A,DSN=data.set.name

Displays a specific data set:
F CAHC,D A DSN=generic.data.set*

Then to stop the Health Check which has contention on the LOADLIB, use the following command to stop the Health Check for that specific task.

Product/OWNERnn
F CAHC,STOP ownertask

This will eliminate the contention for that LOADLIB, and will stop the Health Checks for that product.

Disk™ Backup and Restore checks five SYSPARMs. They are CARTCALC, IOCHNBLK, IOTRACKS, MERGSORT and IXMQTIME.

To use Disk to check the above setting after Disk task is stopped, the following command can be used to restart the Disk Health Check task again:
F CAHC,START ownertask
