CA Gen 8.6 Toolset not opening.

Issue/Introduction

The CA Gen 8.6 Toolset not opening.  On Windows 7 32 bit, getting the error, "The program can't start because mfc140.dll is missing from your computer."

 

 

 

Resolution

The mfc140.dll was not installed when Gen was installed.  The workaround is to manually apply the VS2015 redistributables by running the following command from the …/gen directory of the busted Gen 8.6 iso.

 

vc_redist.x86.exe /q /norestart
