Issue/Introduction

Steps to manually uninstall IIS Web Agent when encountering an issue running Web Agent uninstaller.

Resolution

  1. Stop IIS Web Server;
  2. Remove the Siteminder virtual directory from the IIS manager (if the Web Agent is configured to the IIS server before, use the Web Agent configuration wizard to un-configure the Web Server. This should clear the Web Agent components in Handler mapping, ISAPI filter, and Modules from the IIS manager);
  3. If the Web Agent configuration wizard can't be run to un-configure the Web Agent from the Web Server, please make sure to remove Siteminder components (highlighted as below) from the IIS manager for:

    - Handler mapping

    - ISAPI filters

    - Modules

  4. Remove Siteminder registries (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Netegrity\SiteMinder Web Agent);
  5. Remove Binary (ie: C:\Program Files\CA\webagent);
  6. Remove zerog registry (this is a hidden file and should reside in C:\Program Files);
  7. Remove Siteminder environment variables (Environment variables start with NETE_*. This needs to be careful if Policy Server and Web Agent are installed on the same server as the Policy Server environment variables also start with NETE_. NETE_WA_PATH, and NETE_WA_ROOT are for Web Agent. Remove the reference of the Web Agent path in the PATH environment variable);
