Issue/Introduction

I have several UNIX servers where changing the password on view fails.

Viewing the password creates a job to change the password, but the change password report indicates that updating the password failed with error codes 15520 and 5995.

What may be happening ?

CA PAM and CA PA all versions

Answer

 

One of the reasons this may happen is that there is an aging policy in place in the target device which prevents password change before a certain number of days have gone by. If password change is attempted before the minimum password age, this error will be reported.

Resolution

Disable password age or change password after the required minimal time has gone by
