Issue/Introduction

CA Performance Manager shows Data Sources in Synchronization failure.

CA Data Aggregator Data Source shows Synchronization failure in CA Performance Manager.

CA Data Aggregator communication test cycle in CA Performance Manager fails.

Environment

Applicable to all supported CA Performance Manager releases.

Cause

Site network environment was modified to only respond properly to Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) based host names.

Use of short Host Name in environment fails.

When this problem is being observed errors like these will be found in the CA Performance Manager systems caperfcenter_console service log called the PCService.log.

Resolution

A few solutions are possible.

  1. Resolve the internal network deficiencies leading to failed short host name communications
  2. Edit the Data Aggregator Data Source in the CA Performance Manager UI from using short host name to using FQDN.
  3. Edit the Data Aggregator Data Source in the CA Performance Manager UI from using short host name to using its IP address.
