Issue/Introduction
The JVM failed to initialize:
JVMJ9VM015W Initialization error for library j9gc27(2): Failed to instantiate compressed references metadata; 200M requested Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Reason:- There is no enough memory for the server to create the JVM (Java Virtual Machine).
Environment
z/OS, OMVS
Resolution
Modify SMFPRM00 to include SUBSYS(OMVS,NOEXITS) and IPL. SMFPRM00 can not be dynamically changed. Also defined ASSIZEMAX= 2147483647 in the OMVS segment for the userid.
This can also caused by a third party product, EasyExit from DTS Software.
