Issue/Introduction

When attempting to install EEM 12.x on an Amazon AWS Windows 2012 server, following error message is received:

Microsoft C++ Runtime library

Failed to install Microsoft run time libraries

Resolution

Solution:

Issue is related with non C:\ drives in Amazon AWS servers. 

They are missing the path shortening that the Windows OS classically uses. Because of this, the paths to various files are incorrect/too long in the installer and the installer fails to find the required library files to install EEM correctly.

To resolve the issue, add the path shortening to each non C:\ drive of the Amazon AWS server OR place the EEM install media on the C:\ drive on the Amazon AWS server since the C:\ drive by default has path shortening enabled.

Note:  Similar solution may also be used if similar install issues are encountered with other CA solutions.
