Cause:

Out-of-the-box, inserted images of knowledge documents are stored in "Quick Upload" folder under "Images" Repository. As a default, only *.gif, *.jpeg, and *.jpg files are permitted to store into the Repository.

Resolution:

In order to insert the *.bmp or another image file type, you need to add its extension to Prohibited File Types list of the Repository as per below.

  1. Log into Service Desk using the Service Desk Administration account and open [Administration] tab.
  2. Go to 'Attachments Library' > 'Repositories' and right click on "Images" repository and select <Edit>.

    Repository.jpg

  3. Add *.bmp to the 'Prohibited File Types' field.

    <Before>
    !gif,jpeg,jpg

    <After>
    !gif,jpeg,jpg,bmp
