Issue/Introduction

After the installation of xFlow, using an Apache web server, and verifying services are running, the web port does not function.

If a netstat is run on the system you will also notice that the port (9002 by default) is not running.

If you try to launch Apache from a command prompt manually, by running:

%installpath%\CA\xFlow\APPS\UI\Apache24\bin\httpd.exe

An error is received.

Environment

Windows Server 2012

Cause

The issue is caused because Apache is unable to start successfully on a Windows Server 2012 operating system without patches.

Resolution

The In the Service Desk Manager 14.1.3+ installation Prerequisites the following is stated:

If you are deploying xFlow Analyst Interface with Apache Web Server on Windows 2012, update the KB2999226 patch for x64 Systems.

You must apply this needed Windows server patch. Once completed you should be able to start xFlow services, and confirm that the port is now running.
