Issue/Introduction

Spectrum OneClick shows that a Fault tolerant database synchronization failure occurred and when looking at the secondary SpectroSERVER
there are multiple SpectroSERVER processes running and/or starting and stopping. When looking at the processes that are running on the
secondary SpectroSERVER, there may be multiple SpectroSERVER processes running.

The user may also see SpectroSERVER processes that start and immediately die.

Environment

Release: 20.2, 21.2
Component: SpectroSERVER

Cause

The reason this happens is due to enabling the AUTORESTART option to "y" in the <SPECROOT>/lib/SDPM/partslist/SS.idb file for the processd.

What happens is the primary server sends the signal to the secondary server to stop so that the database synchronization can start. Once the database
starts to shut down, the processd tries to start it back up. This cycle happens continuously.

Resolution

The solution is to disable the AUTORESTART option (set it to n) in the <SPECROOT>/lib/SDPM/partslist/SS.idb file and stop and restart processd. In general,
it is not a best practice to use this option for the SpectroSERVER and in a fault tolerant environment, this option CANNOT be used.
