How to determine the initial allocation of the Datacom Log File (LXX) for CA 7 so that it can spill at acceptable intervals to prevent 100% full conditions before the spill to RXX can complete.
Release: 12.1
Component: 7
There really isn't a formula for the allocation of the Datacom Log file (LXX). However, if the LXX is too small the file can become full with no blocks eligible for spilling.
We recommend that you start with a large LXX allocation during the testing phase. After you have completed the conversion and begun normal processing, balance the LXX size and SPILL frequency. Find a balance where you are creating RXX files at the frequency you want and are not seeing forced checkpoints.
