Several reported problems have been noted with the CA IMS Tools for z/OS database utility products where the BMC Database Integrity Plus (DI+) product has been involved.
Current findings at this time indicate the problems reported are with release r12 of the Database Utilities and when DI+ is in the environment.
The current reported problems:
S378 ABEND executing CA Database Organizer for IMS for z/OS (DBO):
- The function is DBO Unload from an image copy.
- IDI0002I Module DBITERA1, CSECT DBITERA1, offset X'3DC': ABEND S378-X'14'
- It is expected that DBITERA1 is a DI+ module.
S0C4 ABEND executing CA Database Copier for IMS for z/OS (DBC):
- The function is DBC image copy in BMC compatibility mode.
- Multiple image copy control card sets in a single job step. Several image copies complete successfully before the ABEND.
- The S0C4 ABEND is in program DFSPCC30 at offset +4FE.
S0C4 ABEND executing CA Database Copier for IMS for z/OS:
- The function is DBC image copy in BMC compatibility mode.
- An entire database is copied, that is all database datasets are image copied (DDN not specified). When DDN is specified, the image copy function is OK.
- The S0C4 ABEND is in IMS module DFSXCB00 offset +71A
The sure sign that DI+ is in the environment is the following messages in the JESMSGLG:
BMC2700I NO VALID DBI PASSWORD FOUND
BMC44001I DI+ INITIALIZATION COMPLETE
BMC44008I DI+ LABEL PROCESSING SUSPENDED
BMC44009I DI+ TERMINATION COMPLETE
These messages all appear early in processing and just after the following message:
IDI5600I LOAD MODULE "IDIDBOI " INITIALIZED.
Removing DI+ from the environment allowed the impacted CA IMS Tools for z/OS to execute correctly.
