Issue/Introduction

Problem:

Trying to generate sample CA certificates and the private key is not being generated.   Also getting error message 'Unable to load config info'  when trying to execute the scripts again.

Environment:

Windows 7

Cause:

The command prompt was not started as administrator when running makeca, makeclient and makeserver.

Resolution:

You can get the message ‘Unable to load config info’ if you attempt to run makeca, makeclient and makeserver without removing the current certificates.

1.       <!--[endif]-->Remove the certificates that were already generated, if any, by deleting the CERTS & PRIVATE subdirectories that are in the SSL subdirectory under the XCOM install directory and the following files:

-          <!--[endif]-->all index.* files in the SSL subdirectory

-          <!--[endif]-->all serial.* files in the SSL subdirectory

-          <!--[endif]-->the random.pem file in the SSL subdirectory

2.       <!--[endif]-->Go to the Start menu and right click on the command prompt and select run as administrator.

3.       <!--[endif]-->Change into the SSL subdirectory under the XCOM install directory

4.       <!--[endif]-->Then run makeca, makeclient and makeserver.
