Question:

Can CA Librarian Master files be in multiple extents?

 

 

Answer: 

Depends on the type of Master file: 

- Traditional BDAM Master files cannot span volumes or use secondary extents.

- Traditional VSAM Master files can span volumes and use secondary extents. 

- Wide Record Master files are partitioned data sets using PDS or PDS/E organization and can use secondary extents but not multiple volumes.
