Staffing Filter with Per Period Metrics does not return results with Filter Groups & Group By

Issue/Introduction

When in Staffing in MUX, in MUX - Staff, and using Filter Groups with Per Period Metrics, in some conditions when ungrouped, we see a set of results and when we select Group By to group the results, there is No Rows to Show message

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Connect to Clarity - MUX Staff
2. Add filter and Filter Groups as follows:

• • Filter Group 1:
  • Pick two OOTB regular fields
  • Example: Type = Project, Idea
  • Active (Resource) = Yes
  • Filter Group 2:
  • Pick two OOTB regular fields
  • Example:
  • Resource = Current User
  • Starred = Yes

3. Set Match Filter Group to Any
4. Set Filters to All for both Group 1 and Group 2
5. Make sure the filter produces results
6. Now add Per Period Metrics - Allocation

• • Periods = Months
  • Per Period Metrics = Totals and Periods
  • Important: Periods should cover Start Date for 2023 in this example

7. Note you have X amount of results, save this View
8. Now pick a field to Group By, for example Resource

Expected Results: To see the same results, grouped by Resources

Actual Results: No rows displayed. When you pick a Group By, the query will also filter by Start Period and End Period, and will restrict the grouped results

 

Resolution

Workaround: The records may display if you select the Start Period and End Period time to cover a very large period with the projects in the View Options, i.e. 2016-2024. Some of the data will still not display unless you select the earliest possible period.
