Issue/Introduction

I am getting the following when sending a SCRT text file to your site please advise.

Reasons for report failure:

FAIL: Could not determine XML format
An encoding error has been detected and some characters have been corrupted. The report cannot be accepted. See this Knowledge Document for more information.

Environment

Release : 15.0

Cause

As alluded to in the referenced Knowledge Document this appears to be a code page problem and the knowledge document that you were referred to describes one solution.

Looking at the report, in the E5 section you will see the telltale sign of a code page problem.

"CA 1 Tape Management 00.00.00 ³³³ ","L0",33

Those highlighted characters should be vertical bars like this |||

This is also an indication that you are not running with all the current maintenance for SCRT reporting. For instance, PTF LU08629 updates the ISV XML file (CAS9SCRT) so that we now use dashes rather than the vertical bars. We did this to avoid common code page issues since the dashes are valid across code pages.

Resolution

Get current with the SCRT related maintenance or follow the Knowledge Document to address potential code page concern.

Use the following link to have a look at the available PTFs and see what's missing in your environment.
