Issue/Introduction

Description:

When a project is created the system creates a prInsertServiceLock in the prname column of the prlock table. If there is an environmental disconnect (i.e. database service shutdown, deadlock) during the save, the prInsertServiceLock may not be removed from the database, resulting in errors when creating any more projects.

Solution:

For On-Demand Environments, please log a new support case referencing this article.  The Support team will review your issue to verify the need for this solution.

Please run the following query (your DBA might have to execute a 'commit' statement after running this delete)

SELECT * FROM PRLOCK WHERE PRNAME = 'prInsertServiceLock'

If there are any entries in the result set where the prname is "prInsertServiceLock", then run the following:

DELETE FROM PRLOCK WHERE PRNAME = 'prInsertServiceLock'

Once that has run successfully, please run the following query to verify that the lock has been removed.

SELECT * FROM PRLOCK WHERE PRNAME = 'prInsertServiceLock'

Now you can open the application and verify that you can create a project.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact CA Technical Support for further assistance.
