Issue/Introduction

How to send Traps from PC to Spectrum?

 

Environment

Component : PM and Spectrum

Cause

PC and Spectrum Trap Notification Integration

Resolution

Created the SNMP profile to send the trap to 162 port

 

In Manage Notifications create a Notification and in Action 4 inform the SNMP Profile:* and Destination host or IP address:* <Spectrum IP Address>

 

And add Spectrum IP Address in /etc/hosts file

<Spectrum IP Address> <shortname> <fqhn>

 

Make sure that the 127.0.0.1 address is like this configured:

127.0.0.1   localhost localhost.localdomain

 

Set Agent Address (agent-addr) to the device. Edit the /opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/EM/webapps/EventManager/WEB-INF/em.properties file and change the parameter:

From em.notification.trap.trap_send_device_ip_as_trap_address=false

To em.notification.trap.trap_send_device_ip_as_trap_address=true

And restart EM Service
