Pre Upgrade Tasks

• Verify the Prerequisites for the new version into the documentation

  Example for version 14.5 :  Release Information 14.5
  
  
• Verify the Supportability Matrix : Supportability Matrix
  
  
• Verify Supported Upgrade Paths : Supported Upgrade Paths
  
  
• Download and Copy Install Media to target locations

 

Backup of Data

For Enterprise and Domain Manager upgrade do a backup of mdb database and files and registry

Component Upgrade Steps

• Step 1 : Upgrade the DSM Enterprise Manager
  
  
• Step 2 : Upgrade the DSM Domain Manager
  
  
• Step 3 : Upgrade the Remote DSM Explorer. This could be done using the SD Package
  
  
• Step 4 : Upgrade the DSM Scalability Servers. This could be done using the SD Package
  
  
• Step 5 : Upgrade the DSM Agents. This could be done using the SD Packages

 

If you have ENC components installed in the system, upgrade in the following hierarchical order before upgrading Enterprise Manager:
ENC Gateway Manager
ENC Gateway Server
ENC Gateway (Router)
