Issue/Introduction

This article gives details steps CA 2E admins can use to install 2E license keys.

Environment

CA 2E 8.7 and up

Resolution

1. If you do not have 2E Toolkit installed, start at step 5. 
   
   
2. If you are applying a new authorization code for an existing product or changing AS400, start at step 8.
   
   
3. If you are upgrading existing products, or installing a new CA 2E product, begin here:
   
   If library YLUSLIBSAV already exists, delete it.
   

   DLTLIB LIB(YLUSLIBSAV)

   
   
   
   
4. Make a backup copy of your current YLUSLIB.
   

   CPYLIB FROMLIB(YLUSLIB) TOLIB(YLUSLIBSAV)

5. Verify that you restored the library YLUSLIB0 from your product tape.
   

   WRKLIB YLUSLIB0

6. Execute command YCRTLUSLIB. This command will create the library YLUSLIB on your system if this is a first time installation. Alternatively, it will update the existing YLUSLIB library if you are upgrading to a new release of an existing product or adding an new  2E product.
   
   
   
7. Verify that the library YLUSLIB exists on your AS400.

8. Use F4 to prompt the YGRTLICAUT command to key in the security code as listed in the license file. Enter each set of 4-digit numbers into each field and press ENTER. This authorizes the product(s) on your machine.
   
   
9. To verify that your authorization was successful, use the 'Display Product Licenses' command, YDSPLICPRD. The command displays a list of the products you are authorized to, the release level, expiration date, and the maximum number of concurrent interactive jobs you are allowed.
   
   
10. Continue with the Post-Load Activities Instructions for the relevant product(s).

Additional Information

In order to perform the above instructions, you will need a valid license, supplied through the Licensing/GCC team.  Product Support is not permitted to process or handle license materials.

The license that is provided by the Licensing/GCC team will be in the form a text file, which will contain information for the affected 2E components.
