Issue/Introduction

Question:

I'm trying to create a Static Dependent Lookup, but I need it to return a numeric type. I can easily do this in regular Static Lookups by choosing the hidden key field to be LOOKUP_ENUM instead of LOOKUP_CODE, making the lookup type "Lookup - Number" instead of "Lookup - String".

I have tried to do the same with the Static Dependent Lookup, but I can't make the return type numeric.  Is there an option or setting to do this?

Answer:

Static Dependent Lookups operate as a hierarchy with different levels to them, and not a straight list of enumerated values.  As such, they do not present the option of storing and returning their internal values as a number.  All Static Dependent Lookup entries will be returned as string types.
