Resolution

Following is a list of the requirements, changes, and recommendations for CA Jobtrac  r11 needed when you upgrade CA Common Services for Z/OS to release 12 or higher.

CA Jobtrac  r11 requires one APAR when using CA Common Services for Z/OS r12 or later for compatibility with ENF.    The required APAR is RO06413 which upgrades the CA Jobtrac DCM to be compatible with ENF release 12 or later.  For any sites currently on CCS r11 with APAR QO88354 applied, the required PTF can be applied ahead of the installation of ENF release r12 or later.

CAIENF release 12 or higher requires an update to the DCMs used by CA JOBTRAC. Installation of CA Jobtrac  DCMs (Data Control Module) procedure has also changed.  DCMs are now installed in the startup of ENF. The DCM configuration statements are placed in the ENFPARMS data set that is allocated to the ENF started task job.  The CA JOBTRAC CAILIB containing the DCM modules must be accessible to the ENF started task. The CAIENF procedure includes a DD name //CAIDCM. The CAIDCM DD needs to be configured such that it is a concatenation of CA Common Services and CA product load libraries that contain required CAIENF DCM load modules. The first load library in the concatenation should always be the CA Common Services for z/OS CAW0DCM load library.

If you are using Critical Path Monitoring (CPM), The DCM and EVENT must be added to ENF started task ENFPARMS dataset. The CPM CAILOAD containing the DCM modules must be accessible to the ENF started task either via the linklist or STEPLIB DD. Below are the statements required:

*   DCM  for CPM
DCM(CADBODCM)
*     EVENTS for CPM
EVENT(CABMSSTA,ACT)
EVENT(CABMSSTA,REC)
EVENT(CABMSSTA,PURGE=Y)
EVENT(CABMSSTA,RP=1)
*----------------------------------------------------------------

If you are using Cross Platform Scheduling products such as Unicenter JMO or CA Autosys to submit a job to CA JOBTRAC , the DCM and EVENT statements must be added to the ENF started task ENFPARMS dataset. The CA JOBTRAC  CAILIB containing the DCM modules must be accessible to the ENF started task either via the linklist or STEPLIB DD.
