Issue/Introduction

Can AAI run as a user other than root when installed on Linux?

Environment

Release : 6.3.0-2

Component : AUTOMIC AUTOMATION INTELLIGENCE ENGINE

Resolution

You can change the file permissions on the AAI directory with the AAI Service down.

For example use "chown -R username:username /<AAI Install Dir>/" to change the ownership of all files and directories under the AAI Installation Directory.

Then changed over to that user using "su username" and we were able to start the service with the command, "jaws.sh startbg".

You should be able to do the same with an existing AAI installation.
