Issue/Introduction

When adjusting a boolean value through the Task Timeline (Modern User Experience (UX) "Gantt") view on the left-panel side, it does not save / retain. The option can be checked in the Timeline, but it's not actually saving the change.

This impacts all checkbox values on the Timeline view, which includes:

  • Milestone
  • Fixed Dates (Duration)
  • Include in Status Reporting

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log in to the Modern UX (MUX) (MUI) and open a Project.
  2. Go to the "Tasks" section, and ensure the view is set to "Timeline"
  3. Click the "Columns" side tab, and add the column "Include in Status Reporting".
  4. Within the Timeline view, check the box for "Include in Status Reporting" for one of the Tasks in the list. It will look like it is selected.

Expected Results: The Task should now be included in the Status Report.

Actual Results: Checking the box from the Timeline does not save the attribute update.

Environment

Release : 15.9.3

Component : Clarity MUX UI Usability

Cause

DE62264

Resolution

Fixed in Release 16.0.0

  • Fixed for all boolean fields.
  • Note: As part of the updates in 16.0, you will also now correctly see a warning message if you try to make a parent task (Summary task) a milestone, informing you that it's not allowed.

Workarounds:

From the Timeline view:

  1. Add the boolean field (Such as "Include in Status Reporting") to the "Details" of the Task
  2. Check (or uncheck) the check box there. It will save.

From the Grid view:

  • You can update the value if you add the field to the column list.
