Issue/Introduction

The following error is found while trying to create an attribute on a custom object.

 ‘ODF-0231: Serious error on inserting or updating object attribute, contact system administrator’

Resolution

XOG OUT and XOG IN of the affected object should ideally fix issues at object definition. XOG OUT of the affected object was causing the system to hang.

For example, a workaround for a situation where an issue occurs with a boolean attribute is to create a boolean attribute on different object and XOG OUT of the object, and XOG IN by changing back reference to problematic object.
