Issue/Introduction
After deploying Virtual Appliance (Identity Manager and Identity Portal) we get this error message:
Identity Portal User Console is not available (Main Connector is down or not defined)
Resolution
Log in to the Identity Portal Admin UI
- Select the menu SETUP at the top and Connectors at the left menu
- Click on the CAIM connectors
- Click on the Webservices tab and take note of the value of the "Web Service Configuration ID" field

Log in to the Identity Manager UI
- Select menu System > Web Services > Delete Web Services Configuration
- Select and delete the Web Service name you took note of above

From Identity Portal Admin UI back to CAIM connectors above
- Click the Next button
- You will receive a message "Web Service configuration portal does not exist, would you like to create it?"
- Click the Yes button and it will create the Web Service configuration again.
- Start the CAIM connector.

If the steps above do not work, try the following
- Open Identity Portal Admin Console
- Select Setup
- Select CAIM connector
- In the CAIM connector select the Webservices tab
- In the "IM Environment System Manager Username" field, set a new user, "imadmin" for example
- Restart CAIM connector
