Issue/Introduction

How can we configure SSO with RA

Environment

Release Automation 6.6 and above

Resolution

On steps on how to configure SSO in Release Automation please refer to product guide 6.6 and 6.7 . As from the feedback we came to know about some terminology leading to some sort of ambiguity while configuring SSO in RA. This document provides a clarification on same.

Configuration: webapps/datamangement/WEB-INF/distributed.properties

ra.security.profile=saml
ra.security.saml.metadata.entity-base-url=https://ratesting:8443/datamanagement
ra.security.saml.context.scheme=https
ra.security.saml.context.serverName=ratesting
ra.security.saml.context.serverPort=8443
ra.security.saml.context.includeServerPort=true
ra.security.saml.context.contextPath=/datamanagement

The terms which create some ambiguity are highlighted above, please find clarification on same.
  • ratesting: This is the NAC Server IP/ Hostname. It should not be localhost as this will be part of SP metadata.xml that is generated (refer step 6 of guide)
  • 8443: It doesn't mandate the NAC should be on running on SSL. In case if NAC is configured for Non-SSL use the same port
