Issue/Introduction

Spectrum Archive Manager (DDM) database fails to backup after upgrade to Spectrum 10.4.1

Environment

Release : 10.4.0 and higher

Component : SPCAEM - Spectrum Archive Manager (DDMDB)

Cause

The most likely reason for the failure is the post_olb_script file for the previous install uses the $SPECROOT/SS/DDM/ddm_backup program to backup the DDM database.

As of Spectrum 10.4.0, the out of the box post_old_script script uses the new $SPECROOT/SS/DDM/ddm_save.pl script and the ddm_backup file has been renamed ddm_backup_legacy.

Resolution

1. If you have not converted your DDM database to InnoDB, copy ddm_backup_legacy to ddm_backup and copy ddm_save_legacy to ddm_save. This way you can use your current post_olb_script file.

2. If you have converted you DDM database to InnoDB, use the new post_olb_script file from the $SPECROOT/SG-Support/CsScript directory that comes with 10.3.0 and higher. This script is configured to use the new ddm_save.pl script.

Additional Information

Please reference the "ddm_save" section of the documentation for Spectrum 10.3.0 and higher for more information.
