Issue/Introduction

How to create a dump file for troubleshooting Open Workbench (OWB) crashing issues

Resolution

  1. Download a utility to capture the dump file:
    1. Go to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/
    2. On the left-hand menu click on Process Utilities > ProcDump
    3. Download the software (should be taken to page): https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procdump
  2. Run the following command from cmd with admin privileges before launching OWB (run prior to the crash)
    procdump.exe -ma -w npWBench.exe testDump.dmp
  3. Provide the output ‘testDump.dmp’ file that should be generated to Broadcom support.
