Issue/Introduction
When opening Microsoft Project/MS Project (MSP), receive one of two Target errors where the Error line in the Target popup window reads either:
Error: Project cannot open the file
Error: Openfromdatabase
Environment
Release: All Supported Releases Component: MSP
Cause
This can be due to the Global.MPT having a different name other then ProjectGlobal
Resolution
Check to ensure the name is set as ProjectGlobal in Views->Macros->Visual Basic:
In MSP go to the Views tab, click Macros and select Visual Basic
In the left hand window, verify that the Global.MPT header is displayed as ProjectGlobal (Global.MPT)
If not, right click on the Global.MPT header and select the Properties option (it will include the current name of the header) from the list
Change the Project Name to ProjectGlobal and click OK
Go to Control Panel->Programs and Features and uninstall the CA Clarity Addin (Leave CA PPM Schedule Connect and CA PPM Microsoft Project Interface installed)
Navigate to the following folder directory: CA\PPM\CA PPM MSPInterface\addin and double click setup.exe to run through the install process for the Addin
