TIEC074E SYSTEM ERROR: ERROR WRITING TRAN FILE during download in Gen

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to download a Gen subset or model from the Host Encyclopedia using the IEF.TRAN file, and receive one of the following error messages:

ONCODE=22 - The RECORD condition was raised because the length of the record variable was greater than the record length (FILE= TRANS)

ONCODE=82 - The UNDEFINEDFILE condition was raised because of conflicting attributes and file organization specification (FILE=TRANS)

The ONCODE and TIEC074E error messages also appear in the <userid>.IEF.LOGFILE dataset.

Resolution

For the ONCODE 22 or 82 errors with TIEC074E message, the recommendation is to delete the <userid>.IEF.TRAN file and let the download process auto re-allocate. If problems persist, consider re-allocating a larger <userid>.IEF.TRAN file by increasing the space allocations defined for the file.
