Issue/Introduction

This article includes information related to the changes introduced in Ghost Solution Suite 3.3 to support the iPXE feature.

Resolution

Prerequisites to support iPXE feature in Ghost Solution Suite:

  • IIS must be installed on the Ghost Solution Suite Server and all the PXE Servers on which you want to enable the iPXE feature.
  • iPXE can't be installed on a system that has WSUS services installed. 

     Features and IIS Roles settings for Ghost Solution Suite iPXE:

Windows 2012 R2 Server:

Windows 2008 R2 Server:

You must install .NET framework 4.5.1 on a Windows 2008 R2 Server.

Enabling iPXE feature:

The following option is now added in the Component Install:

Configure GSS Server and PXE Server(s) for iPXE  - Select this option if you want to use the iPXE feature.

After you select the Configure GSS Server and PXE Server(s) for iPXE option, enter the following details:

Field Description
GSS Server Details The Ghost Solution Suite Server user must be able to access the GSS Database Server.
Username Enter the user name for the GSS Server.
Password Enter the password to connect to the GSS Server.
Confirm Password Enter the password again.
PXE Server Details You must configure PXE servers to enable the iPXE
feature.
Select a PXE Server Select a PXE Server from the list. You must
configure iPXE for each PXE Server individually.
Username Enter the username for the PXE Server.
Password Enter the password for the PXE Server.
Confirm Password Enter the password again.
