Issue/Introduction

Symantec Management Platform (SMP) environment with hierarchy configured and the following error is seen:

A non-fatal exception occured during replication. The replication job will be restarted from the last checkpoint. 
A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond".

Environment

ITMS 8.x

Cause

Child SMP had a LMHosts file configured with and incorrect IP for Parent SMP. 

Resolution

Remove incorrect entry in LMHosts file.
