Issue/Introduction

This article describes the features of the Threat Analysis Scan found in the Symantec Diagnostic Tool (SymDiag)

Resolution

The Threat Analysis Scan utility that was included in earlier versions of SymDiag (v2) is based on legacy technology that is no longer in active development. 

To identify potential threats, it is strongly recommended that you use the scanning features that are within your installed Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) or Endpoint Security Agent (ESA) products instead. 

These agents are equipped with the latest engines and offer you the most effective and up-to-date protection against modern malware.
