How to use UNICAST in a Ghostcast Server session?
Resolution
There are multiple ways of using Unicast instead of the default Multicast. Any one of these will work individually but you can also use them in pairs.
- Forcing Ghost to Unicast as default setting:
- Create a new shortcut for the GHOSTSRV.EXE file
- Add switch -UU to the end of the filename OUTSIDE the quotes
- This will start the GhostCast Server in the default mode of Unicast - Configure the session as you normally would.
- Forcing Unicast after opening the GhostCast server:
- Open File > Options
- Check the box for "Force Mode"
- Select Unicast
- Click OK
- Configure the session as you normally would.
- From the client:
- Configure the session as you normally would and click "Accept Clients"
- Boot the client machine from your boot disk
- Go to GhostCast > Unicast
- Add your session number and select your options normally
