Issue/Introduction

Provisioning Manager is set up on a machine and is already pointing to a Provisioning Server.

However, this instance now needs to point to a different Provisioning Server and so running the Provisioning Manager setup results in the error "Unable to create server registry". What went wrong?

Environment

Release:
Component: IDMGR

Resolution

The reason this error is thrown is due to the logged-in user's permissions. The user needs to be an administrator on the machine where the Provisioning Manager setup is run in order be able to write the configuration to the registry.

Or if the option is available, right click on the provisioning manager setup exe and select to 'Run as administrator'.
