What is the PTF RO95587 and should I apply it?

Resolution

This PTF RO95587 delivers the CA OPS/MVS Integration Service. This is an enhancement to the existing CA Common Services CAIRIM component. This is a new common service  that allows CA products to more easily integrate with CA OPS/MVS. It is an extension of the existing CA OPS/MVS API service that CA products used to generate CA OPS/MVS API events (intercepted by CA OPS/MVS API rules). This integration service for CA products was written for the Mainframe Operations Intelligence Alarm Manager to notify CA OPS/MVS of anomalies that it could possible rectify via automation.

Prior to this PTF, this integration service for CA products was an Assembler API that z/OS based CA products could use. This PTF extends the integration service for CA products API to C & Java based interfaces.

This is a CA Internal API maintenance update. This PTF should be applied.

Additional Information

If your next question is can I use this  CA Internal API directly, then the answer is no. But, you can use the CA OPS/MVS Web Services product to generate an CA OPS/MVS generic API event that will use the API.
