Issue/Introduction

While a CMDB Connector for z/OS region is running an UDP port connection

can be shown as open while the product region is up.



Is it normal for a CMDB Connector for z/OS region to have an UDP port connection shown as open?

Resolution

If the region's /PARMS group SOCKETS (2nd screen) parm Domain Name Resolution--Use DNR Provided By

has value = SOLVE the UDP port connection is allocated and stays open.

 

When you specify a SOLVE DNR it basically opens up a UDP connection to the DNR servers whereby

those DNR servers communicate back to SOLVE DNR stats/paths/etc.
