CA Workload Automation AE - Business Agents (AutoSys) CA Workload Automation AE - Scheduler (AutoSys) Workload Automation Agent

Issue/Introduction

In CA Workload Automation AE (Autosys), we can use the override_job subcommand to specify an override that changes the behavior of a specific job during its next run. Job overrides are applied only once.

1) In CA Workload Automation AE (Autosys), is it possible to use One-Time Override functionality, if the user wants to run the job stream "earlier" than scheduled that day; without having that job stream run twice that day?

2) Can more than 1 One-Time Override be added to a job stream, in CA Workload Automation AE (Autosys)? What will happen in such a situation?

Environment

Release: ATSYHA99000-11.3.6-Workload Automation AE-High Availability Option
Component:

Resolution

1) You cannot set an override to run early in CA Workload Automation AE (Autosys).

Once the one-time override is run and completed, it will schedule itself for its next available run time.

So if it completes before the NORMALLY scheduled time, the job would be scheduled again for that same day/time as normal. If the override job ran such that it did not complete until AFTER its normally scheduled run in that instance, it would schedule itself for the NEXT available future time... so the next day assuming the job is scheduled to run once a day.

2) If you place 2 One-Time overrides, the first override is deleted.

You can only have one override at a time, until it is executed.
