Issue/Introduction

We are receiving errors attempting to apply our latest product keys despite following the instructions in the email that came with the license key file.

  • The SITE card MUST be coded first and processed before any of the individual PRODUCT keys
  • If the NAME field continued past column 72 on the SITE card, code the NAME field on the second line after placing a dash ( - ) in column 72 of the first line of the SITE card.

Here is the SITE card we coded in the KEYS member and the errors we are receiving
                                                                                                                                                                                                      col 72

CAS9115I - INPUT: NAME(THISISTHEDEPTNAMEOFTHESITEID)
CAS9125E - INVALID DATA: KEY TAMPERING DETECTED OR TRANSCRIPTION ERROR

The same CAS9125E message for INVALID DATA is repeated for each of the PRODUCT keys after they are processed as well.

Environment

Common Services for z/OS Release 14.1 or 15.0

Component : Resource Initialization Manager (CAIRIM)

Cause

For this specific case, the NAME field on the SITEID key does not match the NAME field on the site key received from licensing.
The SITE key as received from licensing spells out the word DEPARTMENT in the NAME field, the KEYS member abbreviates it to DEPT.

SITEID(012345678) SITECODE(THESITECODESENTBYLICENSING)  NAME(THISISTHEDEPARTMENTNAMEOFTHESITEID)

Resolution

The SITE and PRODUCT control statements in the KEYS member used in the CAS9 execution must be coded exactly as received from licensing.  Change any mismatched key accordingly.

Additional Information
