DC205017 Reason Code 0807 during IDMS start-up

Issue/Introduction

During IDMS CV startup, the following message is received:

+IDMS DC205017 V94 T1 Dynamic allocation error; segmentname.filename Reason Code 0807 

Environment

Release: All supported releases.

Resolution

The 0807 is the IBM return and reason code from DYNALLOC (SVC 99).

This message usually indicates that the named dataset was allocated to another job in an incompatible mode and could not be allocated by the CV job.

This is usually caused by a backup job that is running against that file.
